Powering the Move to Hydrogen, engineered by ICEE. Fuel Cell Systems, a UK leader in hydrogen refuelling technology, needed large-scale, secure enclosures to house the high-pressure systems behind their HyQube – a modular refuelling range built to be deployed and relocated wherever it’s needed.

Our Manufacturing Sector helped take the HyQube enclosure from design through to a finished, manufacturable product – substantial structures over two metres on every side, fabricated, welded and finished in-house to house high-pressure hydrogen equipment operating safely outdoors at up to 700 bar.
Built to be weatherproof, strong and precisely made, the enclosures we deliver now house systems refuelling vehicles at sites across the United Kingdom – with our Manufacturing Sector working hand in hand with staff across ICEE to keep delivering as the hydrogen network grows.

Year Manufacturing Partnership

Working from the design through to the finished unit, we brought each enclosure together across a range of processes under one roof – laser cutting, precision folding, welding and fabrication, then powder coating and final assembly. Keeping every stage in-house let us hold tolerances tightly across a large, complex structure and deliver a consistent, repeatable build as the HyQube range scaled from prototype to production.
Today, the enclosures we manufacture are in service at hydrogen refuelling sites across the country, housing the systems that fuel everything from fleet vehicles to trial and development programmes – part of the infrastructure quietly moving UK transport toward hydrogen.
As with every project, the enclosure was only part of it. Our Manufacturing Sector works alongside teams across ICEE to support Fuel Cell Systems from manufacture through to delivery and beyond – one partner across the stages that turn a drawing into working infrastructure on the ground.
